The #1 reason players are no longer coming out of America but from the islands is that they practice & play everyday. When I say play, I don’t mean organized AAU games, I mean hit/run/throw all day.
When I opened TCA in 1996, it was designed to give the Northern ball players a chance against those coming from warmer climates. We have been holding Fall & Winter programs designed to give kids a chance to practice their skills on a year round basis under the tutelage of knowledgable baseball people under my direct guidance. The people that see the best results from us are the ones that understand it is the constant practice that results in improvement, not the occasional lesson.
Now there are a number of copycat facilities that try all the gimmicks and flash w/o any of the substance. The yuppy moms love it but their kids don’t get any better.
Four walls, nets, turf, and balls does not a make a training facility. I can plug in a lamp, but it doesn’t make me a electrician. An electrician can put a ball on a tee, but it doesn’t make him a baseball expert.
If you want your child to develop into the ball player he/she can ultimately be, call me at 610 495 7374 and tell me you read my blog and you want my help.
It’s like my Dad always said about most parents involved in Athletics, “It’s not that they don’t know, it’s they don’t know that they don’t know, and that is their biggest problem.”
